The Adacel 0.5 ml vaccine is a combination vaccine that is inducted for use as a repeat nose in a single dose for children 4 years of age and older to prevent diphtheria – whooping cough – tetanus.

Adacel 0.5 ml vaccine (France) is a combination vaccine that prevents Diphtheria – Tetanus – Whooping Cough, issued with a registration certificate for circulation in Vietnam under the number QLVX-1077-17, on December 18, 2017 by the Drug Administration – Ministry of Health.

The 0.5 ml Adacel vaccine is produced by the company Sanofi Pasteur – a French multinational pharmaceutical company, based in Gentilly, France. As of 2013, Sanofi Pasteur is the 5th largest pharmaceutical and health products distributor in the world.

  • Box of 1 vial, each Adacel 0.5 ml jar contains 1 dose of 0.5ml injection mixture vaccine.
  • Box of 5 vials, each 0.5 ml Adacel vial contains 1 dose of 0.5ml injection mixture vaccine.

The Adacel 0.5 ml vaccine is in order to create immunity that actively repeats to prevent diseases: Diphtheria – tetanus – whooping cough in humans from 4 to 64 years of age.

  • People who already have diphtheria – tetanus – whooping cough still need to be vaccinated against Diphtheria – Whooping cough – Tetanus because these diseases do not always produce an immune response.
  • People infected with human immuno-weakening virus (HIV), asympto symptomatic or asymptoatic.
  • Adacel 0.5 ml vaccine is not in place for children under 4 years of age.

5. Dosage and how to take it

  • The vaccination schedule with the Adacel vaccine of 0.5 ml should be as recommended by the authorities. The Adacel 0.5 ml vaccine should be given as an intramuscular repeat dose.
  • The Adacel vaccine dose of 0.5 ml is repeated to strengthen immunity to Diphtheria, tetanus and pertusus after 5 to 10 years.
  • Injections should be given at the delta muscle.
  • It is not recommended to break down the dose (the dose is less than 0.5 ml).
  • The safe and effective effect of injecting doses smaller than 0.5 ml has not been determined.

  • A history of cerebral pathology (e.g., coma, decreased sense, prolonged seizures) of unknown causes occurs within 7 days after the injection of any dose of vaccine containing whooping cough composition.
  • It is not recommended to vaccinate Adacel 0.5 ml for people with advanced brain pathology, uns controlled neurone disease, progressive neurological disorders.

7. Use with caution

  • Adacel 0.5 ml should not be vaccinated into the heart of the blood vessels.
  • Adacel 0.5 ml should not be vaccinated in the skin or under the skin.
  • Adacel 0.5 ml should not be vaccinated in the buttocks.
  • Vaccination should be postponed in cases of an urgent illness or fever.
  • Intramuscularly Adacel 0.5 ml should not be given to people with bleeding disorders, such as hematoma or tneletemia, or who are taking anti-winter therapy.
  • People with immuno-deterioration (due to illness or treatment) may not have the expected immune response. Vaccination should be considered until immunosuppressive therapy is completed.
  • Vaccination is not recommended during pregnancy unless there is a real risk of whooping cough. Since this vaccine is an inactivation vaccine, there is less likely to be a risk to the embryo or pregnancy. Benefits should be carefully assessed compared to the risk of Adacel 0.5 ml vaccination during pregnancy when there is a high risk of exposure due to contact in the household or when there is an epidemic in the community.
  • The effects of Adacel vaccination of 0.5 ml during breastfeeding have not been evaluated. Since the Adacel 0.5 ml vaccine is an inactived vaccine, there is less likely to be a risk to the mother or baby. 8. Undesirable effects

Reactions at the injection site usually occur within 48 hours of vaccination and self-cure within two days.

  • Local reactions: Pain in the injection site, swelling of the injection site, redness of the injection site.
  • Body reactions: Fever, headache, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, anorexia, rash, pain or weakness of the whole body, pain or swelling of the joints, fatigue, chills, swelling of the axillary lymph nodes
