Extensive colonoscopy is a modern method that is widely used worldwide, although surgery is an incurable method, but it helps prevent the development of the disease to patients.
1. What is colon and colonoscopy?
The colon, also known as the large intestine, is the part that is located in the body on the last side of the digestive tube. After the food is absorbed and digested in the small intestine, the pulp will be transferred to the colon to be taken out of the anus. The colon consists of three parts: the right colon, the horizontal colon, and the colon on the left side.
Colonectomy is a technical method performed in the abdominal cavity, less invasive that allows the doctor to remove part of the colon through small incisions.
Enlarged colonectomy is consisting of removing the strong stalks that govern the colon, which must be classical plus removing the right branch of the middle colon bundle to ensure a cut at least 5cm from the tumor. Extensive surgery also ensures removal of the middle colon arteries. The tumor is located between the horizontal colon, when the mouth connection is carried out between the ileum and the left colon
There are also different types of surgery depending on the location as follows:
- Right and left colonectomy is to remove the right and left colon and 1/3 of the horizontal colon
- Cutting 2/3 of the horizontal colon is called an enlarged colonectomy
- Cutting the entire colon is taking away the entire colon
2. Intrained and contrainttrained
Specify:
- Enlarged coscopy is in designated upon doctor's notice, usually for colon cancer or with tumors.
Contrain specifying:
- Patients with tumors too large, metalysed cancer enters stage four
- The person has no stamina, the elderly are too weak, or have severe background diseases such as heart failure, respiratory failure.
3. The disadvantages of colonoscopy

- Help patients often have less pain after surgery
- Patients often show signs of faster recovery
- Shorten hospital stays, thus saving patients costs
- After surgery the patient is usually eaten early back to normal

- bleed
- be infected
