The consequences of abortion are likely to cause many complications. Therefore, women, especially teenage girls, should learn and apply safe contraception.

1. What is abortion?

Abortion is a measure of use of the procedure or drug with the aim of terminating the pregnancy at an early stage of the pregnancy cycle. Abortion is not a contraceptive but an abortion with mandatory reasons or due to living circumstances.

The majority of the reasons for the abortion are because the woman does not plan to get pregnant in some circumstances:

  • Being of school age
  • No plans to give birth yet
  • Breaking work plans such as business trips, studying abroad
  • Raped

The other reason is re reluctant, which obliges the woman to have an abortion, including:

  • Pregnant women with diseases that, if pregnant, can be life-threatening such as chronic cardiovascular, kidney, etc.
  • The fetus after being examined for pregnancy and diagnosed by a doctor with birth defects, etc.

All of the above causes of abortion come from the ineffective application or ineffective application of safe contraceptives such as:

  • Do not use any contraceptives during sex
  • Improper use of condoms
  • Overdue contraceptive ring
  • Contraceptive rings, overdue contraceptive implants, no longer achieve contraceptive efficiency

2. Consequences of abortion

Abortion is a measure that acts directly on the uterus. Therefore, depending on the degree of success of the procedure (doctor's level, aseptic instruments, etc.) it determines the level of safety of the woman. Over time of complications, we divide into 2 types:

2.1 Consequences of early abortion

Consequences of unsymed abortion can occur during the procedure or after a short period of time, including:

  • Bleeding: Vaginal bleeding or congestion of the uterus seen in cases of large pregnancy, multiple births ofthe uterus, placenta omission, perforation of the uterus, poorly contracted uterus, cervical tearing, blood diseases, etc.
  • Infection: The person with the following infection performs the procedure presenting with high fever, lower abdominal pain, foul-smelling white blood, purulentness, pain during intersolic. The cause of the infection is the patient's failure to comply with a doctor's prescription or failure to properly clean the genitals. Another reason is that the surgeon missed each other, the instrument does not guarantee ermity or conducts procedures that do not guarantee ermity.

2.2 Consequences of late abortion

Some of the consequences of late abortion may be as a result of overcoming ineffective early consequences or due to rough abortion procedures, including:

  • Aphhea: Caused by inflammation of the uteruschamber , common in people with a history of repeated abortions
  • Infertility: Due to inflammation of the uterus chamber, inflammation of the proboscis
  • Continuous miscarriage: Due to damage to the cervical and waist of the uterus during previous abortion procedures. As a result, it causes a cleft uterus, weakening of the cervical neck causing miscarriage.
  • Extra-intra-uteruspregnancy : Due to the weakened body of the uterus, blockage of the proboscis due to inflammation, which leads to the pregnancy not being able to nest in the uterus but nesting in other locations that are mainly proboscis.
  • Striker : Isthe condition of eggs after fertilization does not nest at a favorable position in the uterus. This phenomenon occurs because the damage to the uterus causes the formation of scars, making the eggs unable to nest at the right location, instead having to nest in abnormal locations around the uterus.

3. Prevent complications after abortion

To prevent the consequences of abortion, thewoman needs to ensure the principle of maximal limiting the risk of infection, specifically as follows:

  • Need to rest 1 – 6 hours after the procedure
  • Take medications prescribed by your doctor
  • Clean your genitals with gynecologic rinses, change tam tam taming 4 times a day or when dirty.
  • Abstain from sex for at least 2 weeks after the procedure
  • Proper rest and eating
  • Re-examination after 5 weeks from the time of abortion

4. Contraception after abortion

Contraceptives that can be used after an abortion include:

  • Use of oral contraceptives
  • Contraceptive injections (DMPA, NET-EN, Cyclofem and Mesigyna)
  • Contraceptive Implants (Norplant, Implanon)
  • Int uterus instruments: Can be placed immediately after screening for risk or manifestations of inflammation, unt control of blood bandages and acute anemia.
