In many patients with thyroid failure oryroidism, lymphocytes produce antibodies against their own thyroid gland. Common antibodies that cause thyroid problems are Thyroid-specific peroxidase (TPO), TSH receptor-resistant self-antibodies (TSHR), and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies.

1. What is the thyroid gland?

The thyroid gland is an end noisy, butterfly-shaped gland usually located in front of the neck. The function of the thyroid gland is to make thyroid hormones, which are secreted into the bloodstream and then transported to every tissue in the body. Thyroid hormones act on the development of the body that accelerates development, promotes the m maturity and development of the brain during the fetal period and the early years after birth;the effect on cellular transformation increases the synthesis of ATP that provides energy for all cell activity; increases the metabolism of glucids, lipids, proteins and vitamins; Thyroid hormones also have effects on the cardiovascular system, muscle nerves, genitals and other end hormone glands.

2. Thyroid auto-immune disease imprint

Of all the causes of thyroid pathology, auto-immune disease is the leading cause, commonly referred to as auto-immune thyroid disorders. Normally, the body's immune system protects us from external agents such as bacteria and viruses by antibodies produced by blood cells called lymphocytes.

2.1 Anti-TPO testing

Thyroperoxidase (TPO) is an enzyme involved in the synthesis of thyroid hormones, catalysing the oxidation reaction of iodin on residual tyrosine in thyroglobulins for the synthesis of T3 and T4. TPO is revealed only in armor cells. Anti-TPO antibodies are formed when antigens leak into the re encesiculitis that cause the destruction of the thyroid organization.

Purpose and ation of the test:

  • Evaluation of the production of antithyroid antibodies helps diagnose auto-immune disorders in the thyroid gland.
  • Distinguish sub-acute thyroiditis from Hashimoto's thyroiditis
  • Diagnosis of differentiation between thyroid auto-immune disorders and thyroid disease not related to auto-immune mechanisms
  • Help decide on treatment in patients with non-clinically asymptoatic thyroidism

Normal values: anti TPO: < 5.61 IU/mL

Increased anti TPO: Autoiceous hematoma anemia, granuloma thyroiditis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, general myalnia, edema, non-thyroid tumors, malignant anemia, advanced thyroid failure, thyroid cancer, systemic lupus erythematous

2.2 Anti-TSHR (self-antibody TSH antibody)

Purpose and ation of the test:

  • Support diagnosis of auto-immune armor
  • Monitor the treatment of Graves patients and predict recurrence. TRAb levels tend to decrease when antithyroid drugs are used to treat Graves' disease. Low concentrations or unsym detected TRAb after a course of treatment may show that the disease is in remission and therefore may consider discontinuation of the drug.
  • Measure TRAb levels in the last tri tri month of pregnancy. Since TRAb is an IgG group antibody, they can cross the placenta and can cause newborn thyroid disease. Therefore, measurement of TRAb antibody levels in pregnancy in patients with thyroid history

Normal value:0 – 1.75 IU/L

Increased TRAb levels: Auto-thyroiditis, basedow, thyroiditis…

2.3 Anti-TG(thyroglobulin antibodies)

Thyroglobulin (TG) is a localized glycoprotein in the armor follicle colloid, which participates in the attachment of iodine and bio-synthesis of T3 and T4.Tg plays a decisive role in the peripheral thyroid hormone synthesis of T3 and T4.TG produced by normal thyroid cyst cells, papillae cancer cells and cancer cells of thyroid cysts. Normally Thyroglobulin(TG) locally resides in follicle glue, in some types of thyroid dysfunction pathology, TG can get rid of the thyroid gland becoming an antigen to the body. In response, the body produces antibodies against TG, leading to an inflammatory response and destruction of the thyroid gland.

Anti-TG test helps detect cancer cells of thyroid follicles

Purpose and ation of the test:

  • For the detection of auto autothyroid diseases of the thyroid gland
  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis monitoring
  • Differential diagnosis of suspected unsymoid autoctermic thyroiditis with anti-TPO antibody results

Normal values: < 115 IU/mL

Anti-TG increase: autoicesive hematoma anemia, granuloma thyroiditis, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, thyroid function enhancement, general myalnia, edema, non-thyroid tumors, malignant anemia, advanced thyroid failure, autoicesive thyroid cancer, systemic lupus erythematosus, type I diabetes mellitus
