Some cases of influenza can progress severely with symptoms such as high fever, shortness of breath, cyanosis, pulmonary edema due to heart failure and can be fatal. The disease easily turns malignant for cases with a history of chronic diseases, impaired resistance, immunity such as kidney failure, diabetes mellitus, alcoholics, pregnant women, the elderly, young children. If there are abnormal manifestations, patients should be taken to specialized medical facilities for timely examination and treatment, avoiding unfortunate complications. 3. Seasonal influenza classification

Seasonal influenza is divided into 3 types including influenza A, influenza B and influenza C:

  • Influenza A is the most dangerous type with many pathogenic strains such as A(H5N1), A(H3N2), A(H1N1) etc.
  • Influenza C is almost identical to the common cold.
  • Influenza B has only one type of respiratory or contact.

4. Causes of seasonal influenza

The main cause of flu is the change in weather from hot to cold, suddenly low air humidity. The body does not adapt in time, making the penetration of influenza virus favorable conditions for influenza.

5. Symptoms of seasonal influenza

During the incubation period (about 2 days), the person usually has initial manifestations such as fever, feeling of chills, headache, muscle aches, dizziness, insubity, fatigue. Later, symptoms of nasal congestion, cough and runny nose appear. In young children, symptoms of ear pain, sore throat and swelling of the lymph nodes, or diarrhea, pain and vomiting may occur.
