Menstruation is a normal biological phenomenon in women and occurs regularly every month, however, during travels or work many people fear that the arrival of menstruation will cause inconvenience. Therefore, some women now use the method of delaying menstruation by using the drug.
1. What is menstruation?
Menstruation is a phenomenon of peeling of the lining of the uterus with cycles due to endometrial changes that cause bleeding from the uterus chamber to the outside of the vagina. Each person's menstruation usually has a cycle, an average of 28 days.
2. Is there a way to actively move the day of menstruation?
Menstrual deferred medications may be used to postpone menstruation. Accordingly, menstrual deferred drugs are drugs with the composition of the hormone progesteron.
The mechanism by which progesteron-containing drugs work to slow menstruation because during a normal menstrual cycle, the first half of the cycle will be affected by the hormone estrogen to stimulate the growth of the lining of the uterus but the second half of the period is affected by a hormone called progesteron and this is also why doctors choose progesteron without estrogen. In the last days of the cycle the amount of progesteron declines resulting in the lining of the uterus peeling off, creating menstrual bleeding. Using a menstrual delay containing the hormone progesterone will prevent the lining of the uterus from peeling off, thereby giving the effect of delaying menstruation.
3. Is it safe and effective to use menstrual deferred medications?
The majority of cases of menstrual deferred medications are effective and safe, however the results of use of the drug are individually dependent and should not be abused regularly because it inhibits the body's natural hormone cycle. Therefore it is best in new cases of "re reluctantness" to use and it is necessary to return to the normal menstrual cycle as soon as possible.
4. Do menstrual deferred medications have side effects?
Any drug has an undesirable effect. Side effects of this drug as well as side effects due to excess hormone progesteron, including abdominal distension, acne, mood changes due to hormone imbalance.
5. After stopping the drug, how long will there be menstruation?
Depending on the location of each person, the time of menstruation will be different, but usually this period is from 10-15 days. In some cases, menstruation may appear immediately within a few hours after discontinuation of the drug.
6. How to use menstrual deferred medications?
With any drug should not be used on their own. To ensure safety and efficiency, consult a specialist for appropriate examination and indications. It is recommended to consult a gynecologist at least 1 week or 10 days before the arrival of menstruation.
During the use of the drug, if there are signs of abnormalities, the patient should contact a doctor as soon as possible. After stopping the drug for 15 days without seeing menstruation again, it is necessary to see a doctor for the exact cause.
How to take and dose the drug to delay the menstrual cycle is as follows:
- If daily contraceptives are used to delay menstruation, the following can be used to be effective.
- For the daily contraceptive pill type 21 tablets, just take 21 pills as usual but instead of taking 7 days off and starting the new blister, continue to use a new blister continuously without taking any more days off. If you want to delay your menstruation to travel for a period of several days, you will drink at the new blister equivalent to that number of tablets (For example, if you want to move the red light day 4 days, take 4 contraceptive pills). The main way to slow menstruation for 1 month is to take all this daily contraceptive blister.
- For the daily contraceptive pill blister 28 tablets, you also only need to take all 21 tablets and quit taking 7 brown pills called "placebo". Then drink flight 1 of the new blister and maintain normal drinking to postpone that month's menstruation.
- In case the contraceptive pill is not used daily, progesteron deferred menstruation should be taken at least 3-4 days before the menstruation and taken regularly until the neuron returns. But with this use it is necessary to have specific instructions of a specialist. Since the dosage of the drug according to this method depends on the weight and current state of health, thanks to a face-to-face examination the doctor will prescribe the most reasonable. With this measure there may be menstruation immediately after discontinuation of the drug but there are some cases of female hormones that require 7-10 days of menstruation to appear again.
The use of menstrual deferred drugs is quite safe and effective but you should not overdo it. Instead, you should go to medical centers with obstetric specialties for advice and instructions on how to use effectively.
